1. TikTok Crystal Ambient Lamp Goes Viral With $83K in 7-Day Sales

A crystal ambient lamp with a wholesale price of only RMB 6–8 in China has recently gone viral on TikTok Shop U.S.
Priced between USD 8.65 and USD 16.10, the product generated USD 83,400 in sales within one month of launch, with unit sales surging by 5,506 units between January 5 and January 11 alone.

The lamp features a crystal-style material with diamond-cut textures and offers 16 built-in lighting modes.
Short-form videos highlighting light and shadow effects successfully attracted visually driven consumers.
One viral video reached 2.64 million views and converted over 3,600 orders.

Similar products are also performing strongly across the platform.
The MirrorZone store sold more than 6,000 units over the past seven days.
Ambient lighting products continue to gain traction on social platforms.
Govee, an ambient lighting brand under Shenzhen Zhiyan Technology, has accumulated over 14 million users.
The company reported revenue exceeding RMB 4 billion in 2024 and has entered IPO tutoring, highlighting how the “lighting + emotional value” consumption trend is driving traditional product category upgrades.

2. Russia Smartphone Sales Reach 23.6M Units in 2025, Xiaomi Leads Market

According to 2025 smartphone market data released by MTS, total smartphone sales in Russia reached 23.6 million units, generating revenue of RUB 574 billion.
The average selling price stood at RUB 24,300.

Xiaomi ranked first with a 22% unit market share.
Samsung followed with 14%, performing strongly in the mid-to-high-end segment.
Apple accounted for only 8% of total unit sales but contributed 28% of total market revenue due to its higher average selling prices.

Demand for mid-range smartphones priced between RUB 20,000 and 40,000 increased significantly, accounting for 20% of total sales.
The Realme Note 60X became the best-selling model of the year, capturing 2.4% of total unit sales, reflecting intensified competition in the Russian smartphone market.

3. U.S. Personal Care E-Commerce Rankings Shift as Shopping Logic Evolves

According to the latest data from ECDB, the top three e-commerce platforms for personal care products in the U.S. are Amazon, Walmart, and the rapidly rising TikTok Shop.

While Amazon and Walmart maintain strong advantages, TikTok Shop surpassed major players such as Target and eBay in just over two years of GMV growth.
Temu ranked tenth overall.

Consumer purchasing behavior is shifting from search-based shopping toward content-driven discovery and price-led decision-making.
Amazon’s Rufus AI is accelerating the trend of “content-driven inspiration combined with instant checkout.”

For sellers, content density has become a key competitive factor, requiring adaptation to new traffic acquisition and conversion logic to capture emerging market opportunities.

4. eBay Expands Influencer Commerce With New Store Advertising Tools

eBay continues to expand its advertising business by extending its “Promoted Stores” solutions to influencer-affiliated ambassador stores and live shopping activities.

The newly launched “Custom Promoted Stores” feature allows sellers to select up to 1,000 product links, including 10 featured items, and build customized landing pages.
These pages can be used for promotional campaigns, curated collections, influencer collaborations, or live shopping events.

The move signals eBay’s deeper push into the influencer economy.
Notably, affiliate ambassadors do not require selling accounts to create dedicated storefront pages and can drive traffic through cost-per-click advertising.

5. U.S. Luxury Retailer Saks Global Files for Bankruptcy Protection

U.S. luxury department store group Saks Global filed for bankruptcy protection late Tuesday local time, marking one of the largest retail bankruptcies in the U.S. since the pandemic.

Just one year ago, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, and Neiman Marcus completed a merger to form Saks Global.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the retailer is close to finalizing a USD 1.75 billion financing plan with creditors, which would allow its stores to continue operating.

The company’s largest unsecured creditors include Kering Group, owner of brands such as Chanel and Gucci, with outstanding claims of approximately USD 136 million and USD 60 million, respectively.
